Bowa-Bowaan Festival

It is held evey May 2, coinciding the town fiesta of Nabua. The highlight of the affair is the re-enactment of the 13th century pagan rites which is enriched by colorful costumes. The rite is dramatic revival of the traditional boa feast during the pre-Spanish era where pagans believed that the chains of coconut embryos called “Boa” are offered to their old deities

The festival was named after the male devotees (voyadores) who accompany and carry the Virgin’s image in a procession called Translacion for a novena at the Metropolitan Cathedral.

PASACAO BEACH

Located in the town of Pasacao, the beach is very popular to the landlocked residents of Naga City.

LEANING TOWER OF BOMBON

It is Camarines Sur’s counterpart or exactly a replica of the very famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Rome. A 15 minute drive from the City of Naga to Bombon.

PNP MARKER PARK

This is located in Del Gallego. The site is where the late President Manual L. Quezon had driven a golden nail during the inauguration of the North and South bound Railroad tracks which connected Manila and Legazpi.

LADRILLO CHURCH OF QUIPAYO

It was constructed in 1616. This unique brick-made church is located in Calabanga. Rare artifacts were excavated in this church and they are now well-displayed in museum behind the church altar.

CONSOCEP RESTHOUSE

Located in Tigaon, it is at the midway of Mt. Isarog at an elevation of 1, 800 feet above sea level. The breeze at this point is hauntingly cool among the every luxurious surrounding that abounds in the place.

MALACSAY FALLS

Located in Mt. Isarog in Panicuason, it is 40 feet in height and the cascading water falls on a wide pond. A strong potential as a tourist attraction in the province. It could compete with the other leading waterfalls in the Philippines like the Pagsanjan Falls.

LAKE BUHI

At the eastern side of Mt. Iriga picturesque Lake Buhi is about 105 m above sea level surrounded on all sides by hills more than 300 m high. Sinarapan, the smallest commercial fish in the world, is found in the lake. It measures about three to four millimeters long and one spoonful would hold a thousand on them.

GOTA BEACH

Located in Caramoan, this lovely white beach lies between two small hills and fronting the beach are three unspoiled islets.

ADIANGAO CAVE

Located in Presentacion, the entrance to this cave in on the side of a small hill overlooking the sea. The cave is in the midst of a coffee plantation.

ROSE ISLET

This small islet near the town of Presentacion. The white sandy beach of the islet is good for swimming and snorkeling.

ATULAYAN ISLAND

In this cinema-like paradise of an island, you cn easily pull your heart down and complete your collection of rare shells and stones. This is very bountiful in this God-given island. It is once the site of the French-Italian movie “Mutiny in the South Seas”. Its ivory-colored beaches provide the beast setting for the movie.

NATO BEACH

It is accessible by car. Its beach is long with clear water and gradual sea-depthness.

OMANG CAVE

Situated in barrio Paniman, Caramaon, its entrance is about 30 feet above sea level and the interior is architecturally designed. The air is very cool inside. It is dark and if it will be lighted, it shows grandiose beauty.

CARAMOAN BEACH

The beach that could match the Miami Beach in Florida.

LAKE BATO

An inland lake which is a selected habitation of wild ducks and choice site for duch hunters.

ITBOG FALLS

Located in Sta. Cruz Buhi, Cam. Sur. It has a twin waterfalls cascading amidst verdant vegetation. It could be reached by means of a banca ride from the town proper of Buhi, then a 30 minute trek.

MT. IRIGA

This distinct volcano has an elevation of about 4,823 feet. It is a very noticeable landmark. The eruption in 1611 had caused the existence of Lake Buhi in the province.

LA ROCA ENCANTADA

This is an enchanting island within the scenic lake of Buhi. It could be reached by means of a banca ride from the town proper of Buhi.

CALAPNITAN CAVE

Found in Libmanan, it contains numerable stalactites and pillars ranging from massive size to extremely delicate. Thousands of bats are housed in this cave. It presents a very extraordinary spectacle. Their presence provides a very good source of guano supply and phosphate.

SABANG BEACH

Located in San Jose, this resort has sandy white beach and shallow clear placid bathing water which is strongly fitted to the climate in the area.
